Scandinavian style interior design includes furnishings and fixtures that are simple and functional with impeccable details.  There are many interpretations of this style ranging from traditional to modern and eclectic mixes with whimsical touches, but they all have something in common.  The minimalist designs of these homes have a place for everything and everything seems to be in it's place.  Many furnishings are built into the walls, open shelving is very common instead of heavy cabinetry even in kitchens, corner spaces are utilized as fireplaces and furniture and accessories are sparse and functional with an emphasis on artwork.  Black and white are common color themes with playful pops of color in these clean well thought out spaces.
