KERI RUSSELL'S BROOKLYN BROWNSTONE: RENOVATED BY HER HUBBY February 25 2013, 0 Comments

I love so many things about Keri Russell's Brooklyn brownstone that was totally renovated by her contractor husband and featured in Elle Decor.  He repurposed different types of reclaimed materials as interior finishes and furnishings in such a smart way and created a beautiful chic style for their home.  The furnishings were kept neutral and transitional so that the architectural details and special finishes would shine through.  Here are some of the rooms.

The wood side table and circular mirror frame were made from reclaimed wood and are charming additions to the traditional elements of the living room.  I love the ornate crown mouldings and fireplace surround.

The kitchen cabinets and island are all made from reclaimed fir with an ebony stain that works well with the stainless steel appliances.  The open rustic shelving looks great holding their cookbook collection.

Modern wire chairs are perfect with a handmade thick rustic pine dining table.  The custom wine storage on the wall with barn wood detail is so clever.  The brick fireplace and pine floors are original to the home.

The furnishings in the master bedroom are modern and another handmade piece serves as the bedside table.  The table made of reclaimed pine flooring is sleek and modern in design and a perfect addition to the room.

The master bath has a soaking tub area with open walls to the bedroom.  The vanity is also made of reclaimed fir and looks great with a stone top with and irregular cut edge.
