Rustic Kitchens: A Beautiful Collection From Architectural Digest March 25 2013, 0 Comments
I'm a big fan of rustic kitchen design so I've selected a few of my favorites from the large collection featured in Architectural Digest. There is a simplistic charm to these well appointed country style kitchens even though they are large in scale. Their exposed wood beams, warm lighting and distressed finishes offer an invitation to be comfortable and enjoy a home cooked meal. Here are a few that I would love to visit.
Warm track lighting highlights the wood ceiling and large rustic range hood. The old world style stone arch is my favorite part of this kitchen.
Antique ceiling beams and a diamond patterned painted floor are the stars of this rustic kitchen. The center island finished in reclaimed wood supports a thick butcher block top.
The kitchen of an informal ranch was designed with honed granite counter tops with chiseled edging, a heavy wood center island with hickory counter stools and a custom iron light fixture.
This eclectic kitchen is part of the home of designer Ellen Denisevich-Grickis, a two hundred year old farmhouse that she had transported to Rhode Island. There is a striking contrast between the barn board cabinets and log trim and the stainless steel appliances and Murano glass chandelier.
This expansive kitchen is part of an open living area and is one of the main highlights of a couple's dream home located on the property of their Napa Valley vineyard. It's flanked by sliding glass doors that open up to beautiful covered porches with incredible views. I really like the stone detail and open shelving by the range hood.
An antique Spanish style dining table and chairs are complemented by oversized pendant lights in the Beveryl Hills kitchen of actress and director Diane Keaton.
